On the anniversary of Mary MacKilliop’s canonisation, a magnificent statue was erected at the Sacred Heart Cathedral Bendigo to honour St Mary of the Cross.

The bronze and glass statue by artist Jenny Steiner stands 3 metres high and depicts St Mary's work with children and education across the Sandhurst Diocese. The statue was unveiled by the Most Reverend Leslie Tomlinson, Bishop of Sandhurst, along with His Excellency, the Most Reverend Archbishop Paul Gallagher on 17 October 2014.

The statue is an undertaking of the Aspire Cultural and Charitable Foundation. http://www.aspirefoundation.org.au
